Songs you HATE!!!!
Wednesday, May 24, 2006
Paul DickinsonThis might be kind of fun...

I remember several years back when the Subway Cd Side was in full swing, one of the topics or cd sides was "songs you hate the most". I was surprised that many folks hated the same songs!

If my memory serves me, some of the most hated songs were "Nights In White Satin", by the Moody Blues, "When The Children Cry", by White Lion, and "We Built This City", by Jefferson Starship...

Some of mine? "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel comes to mind...How about you??

    Kiss also sucks.

Anonymous said... I can not for the life of me figure out what the big deal is with Jimmy Hendricks. Any time one of his songs starts I pretty well tune out for 3-6 minutes. I know he has plenty of fans but I just don't get it.

Any Country song would also make my list. Country music is the fingernails on the blackboard of life!

Anonymous said... Axeman here...First let me say, that's the first time I've ever heard someone say Kiss sucks. I thought every classic rock fan like them at least a little bit. Anyway, I hate ANYTHING from Led Zepplin. Let me single out the one where Robert Plant moans, groans and whines through half of the song and the Fisher Price amps make everthing sound distorted...wait, I guess that's ALL of them. Of course, I don't see the big deal with Jimmy Hendricks either. And I don't know how in the world country music made it out of Nashville. I think "What I Am" from Edie Brickel and the New Bohemians?! "ranks" right up there as well. Don't forget about a certain Iron Butterfly "song". All in all I think it would be easier to list hated bands because it is hard to narrow down to particular songs when you hate everything about a band. Perhaps an interesting follow-up subject might be to list bands/songs we like but think they are played way too much on the radio. You know, the songs that are new so the radio stations beat them into submission and by the time you realize you like it, you're sick of it. Just an idea. Later.
